Pick one. If you're not sure what the difference is, the explainer below has you covered.

What's the difference between bookkeeping and accounting?

Bookkeeping is the daily habit. Accounting is the annual checkup.

Bookkeeping records what happened in your business as it happens. Every sale, every expense, every transfer lands in the right spot, and your accounts get reconciled against the bank so the numbers are real. Done well, you can open your books any month and know where you stand.

Accounting takes a full year of those records and finishes them. That means year-end adjustments (things like depreciation on equipment and expenses that belong to a different year), financial statements, and your corporate tax return. It's also where the planning happens: how you pay yourself, what to set aside, what to change next year.

The two feed each other. Clean books make year end faster. Messy books mean year end starts with cleanup, and cleanup takes time.

Straight talk. Solid books.
